That was quite the year
And now a new decade is about to begin. Full of worry and fears from all sides of the aisles. Promise or threat of 5G, heaven or hell, is but one of a multitude of conundrums we as global citizens who care about the future of our world must consider.
For me personally, 2019 was full of hopes and promises, temporary dips downwards, but an ever-increasing upward trend for the Southern Time project to finally realize its solid foundation. We recorded the Southern Time Band’s (STB) first music video, I am almost midway through YEDI’s not-for-profit program, and all that is lacking now are the funds to record the band’s first album. I will soon be applying for the STB to play and debut ‘Lost in Love No More‘ to the world at AIDS 2020 in San Francisco in July. The album needs to be mastered at least a couple of months before then, so the marketing campaign (e.g., music videos) and world tour preparations can kick into gear full swing.
If at least part of the money to record the album (about $100,000 CDN, including promotion) does not come in by the end of January, the Southern Time project may not occur. The stars have aligned for this time.
If the Southern Time project can first make its mark on the world in 2020, then the world can indeed end AIDS by 2030. Don’t believe me?! See T’s Instagram video here.
Southern Time is about making the world livable, enjoyable, and to have freedom for all. The Southern Time team wants to do this by first helping the world end AIDS by 2030 using the power of music and film. If the world can meet UNAIDS’s goal, we can accomplish anything.
So, I am praying. For our world, and for my personal life and higher aspirations. My partner and I are expecting our first child in February next year, so I have this to think about as well. The ramifications of raising a child in such a tumultuous time should not be deliberated lightly.
